Gaithersburg Reggae Concert

The city sponsors weekly concerts at its outdoor music pavillion. This week's was Reggae, so we decided to go check it out.

Téo loved his portable seat, never sitting in any one spot for more than 5 seconds, then going to site somewhere else. I guess the novelty of a portable seat was just too much exitement to actually sit and enjoy it.

Tiago doing some reading up to the beat.

The singer's speaker was blown, so the sound was kinda ... awfull. As atested by the kid in the front.

White's Ferry

White's Ferry connects Virgina and Maryland across the Potomac. In one of the heaviest urban concentrations in the US, this is the only point of crossing from one state to the other for dozens of miles. They need about 4 or 5 bridges built around here, but this is a phenomenal way to travel back in time a century or so.

Driving into the Ferry.

Potomac Celtic Fair

It was a hot, hot day... The tents in the background were Clan tents, where those with names like McCleod, McIntosh, etc. could find out more about the origins of their name.

An archery demonstration.

Wow...

Proof that time machines truly exist. ;-)

Téo did have a blast.

There were theme tents for each major time in Celtic history. About 20 in all.

Téo, learning how to weave a basket.

Poolesville

On the way to the Celtic Festival, we passed by a small town called Poolesville. It is less than 30 miles from the center of Washington DC, and yet, it feels remote and lost far away from the super-urbanized east coast...
