European Vacation 2012 - A walk through Cascais - June 20

We walked downtown Cascais to the government building to finally be able to get Teo's Portuguese ID and Passport... after 11 years of back and forth paperwork! Here's what we passed by...

an adorable restaurant

tons of balconies and bougainvillea

a HUGE market

complete with old Portuguese men selling potatoes :)

a humongous fish market with every kind of sea life imaginable

this red one is my fave: dourado

tons of sardines... the larger ones that you grill, not the ones that come in a tin :)

the most amazing piri-piri chicken place (whole chickens roasted on a spit with HOT piri-piri pepper seasoning!

of course, the gorgeous beach

and boardwalk

lots of sailboats

and huge residences, owned be the governments of countries and such :)

mmmmm.....

a favorite lunch spot

the ocean pool (a wall is built up to let in sea water but stay fairly calm for swimming)

GRILLED fish, yummmmmmm....
(yes, with the head still on, lots of good eating there... just not by me, lol, I'm not that acclimated to Portuguese eating! :)

Tiago's lunch: grilled bacalhau (dried salted cod) over smashed potatoes and TONS of olive oil)

just for fun... the Portuguese version of condiments, everything comes in a packet :)
